The Bible and Its InfluenceRegistration and Introductions: 8:45-9:00

Session 1: 9:00-11:45

Questions to be discussed in the morning session:
• What is the legal basis for offering the course?
• Why should a district consider offering the course as an academic elective?
• What are some constraints to offering the course?
• What are the costs of offering the course?
• How can I implement the course?

Participants will discuss the following:
• First Amendment (U.S. Constitution), Tennessee law
• Academic Reasons for Offering the Course
• Perceived Constraints: Personnel, Resources, Funding, Evaluation, and Public Reaction
• Proposed Budget for Course
• Implementation Concepts

Each participant will be given a folder highlighting resources and a teacher's edition.

Lunch: 11:45-1:00

Lunch will be provided by the Bible Literacy Project.

Session 2: 1:00-3:00

Participants will be guided through the steps of developing a proposal that can be customized to fit their needs. Example: Proposal to administrator, school board, foundation, etc. Each person will leave with a written document for submission to appropriate people.
